NEW GAME and level talk


In this dev log, I want to talk about the environment a little bit. First I wanted to point out that this is a new game entirely, the previous ones were atrocious and more of a "getting used to using the program" type deal and just logging my progression as we go. Now that that's out of the way, here is more of the environment.

Environmental storytelling

I wanted to implement a creepy/dungeon spook vibe, so I made the setting pretty dark with limited lighting with the torches. I also like the idea of how most dungeons included a labyrinth type maze so basically this whole game/level is a maze. What I did to tell somewhat of a story in this game is that in a future update, I will leave remnant's of objects that will  hint that the Waifu does exist (which is the end goal of the game). The next update will add more rooms and the said remnants.

Structure placements

I placed the first room to appear as a classic maze, just very narrow walls and limited lighting the player must traverse through to the end where a doorway resides. Next room will be different doorways of the same rooms the player must go through and find the proper exit to the next challenge. More rooms will be available in future update. 

This pretty much sums up this dev log, sorry the first game was horrible, was just testing things and needed to upload something for deadlines. but now I feel a lot more comfortable with the program and a bit more confident in my skills to provide a proper game.
